2x50 Gallon Compressor Washing Rig
DESCRIPTION
Our 2 x 50 gallon rig (JMP/LUFT/D/4972/C200) is a higher capacity multi-engine
compressor washing rig for washing larger engines fitted in wide bodied aircraft.
The rig consists of two 227 litre (50 imperial gallons) stainless steel pressure
vessels (tanks) mounted on a rigid steel chassis supported by three heavy duty
wheels with 16” super elastic tyres. The front wheel is mounted on a heavy
duty steering castor unit fitted with a drawbar which can be locked in the upright
position operating the parking brake for storage and safety.
The pressure vessels are designed for a maximum working pressure of 80 lbf/sq.in.
(5.52 bar) and a maximum temperature of 85ºC. For safety, when using hot
water, it is recommended that a maximum temperature of 70ºC is used. Each
tank has a 3/4” BSP drain valve at the base and is fitted with a filler
cap, gauze strainer, pressure guage, sight glass and pressure release valve.
A nine kilowatt immersion heater is installed at the base of each tank using
115/200 volt, 3 phase, 400Hz fed directly from standard aircraft Ground Power
Units enabling them to be heated to a temperature of 70ºC in 1 hour. Other
voltages available on request.
The rig is supplied with 20ft x 3/4” NB and 20ft x 1/2”NB outlet
delivery hoses together with a 20ft x 1/4” NB blow-off hose stored in
stowage reels mounted on each side of the chassis.
This rig is powered by an external nitrogen charging trolley. A towing eye
is provided at the rear to enable such a trolley to be transported with the
rig.
A static version of this rig is now available for use in Test Cells.
A new addition to the range is a fully self contained version (JMP/RR/D/6326/C200)
with four upright rechargeable nitrogen cylinders, working to a maximum charging
pressure of 2500 PSI (174.2 bar), fitted onboard at the front of the rig and
a larger storage container at the rear for up to four sets of washing probes.
Click on accessories for a comprehensive list of engine washing probes available
for use with this rig to suit most popular engine types.
